Working on Tasks
This section is about working on an already configured Task. That means this section is about:
- Completing a Task that you or someone else previously created.
- Reminding someone to complete their Task.
- Reassigning a Task to someone else.
The current Task
The current Task is also called the active Task. It might follow some previous Tasks or precede upcoming Tasks, but for now it is the one Task that this Dossier hinges on. That is why we made the representing the Task bigger and why we put it right at the top of the Timeline on the Dossier page.
The Task itself will explain exactly what must be done to complete it. If you or someone else has to do something to continue, we call that Task Logic. Task Logic can be as simple as clicking a button, but it can also require document uploads, document downloads, a payment, your approval or the answer to a question.
Send a reminder
If you are waiting on a Client or fellow Team Member to complete a Task before you can continue, you can use the reminder function to remind them of the Task at hand.
To send a reminder:
If you click on the Show upcoming tasks link at the just below the Quick Note field, the Dossier page will also show all the Tasks that are planned in the future. You cannot yet work on these Tasks, but you can see what will be coming up and what you might want to prepare. Team Members can also reassign the Task or decide to skip it.
Completed Tasks are read-only. You cannot modify them in anyway. Completed Tasks show up as green circles and the Timeline has a solid green line.
