Add a new Task to a Dossier

There are four ways to add a Task to a Dossier:

  • Start the Dossier with a Workflow
  • Add the first Task to a Dossier (without other Tasks)
  • Add another Task to a Dossier (which already has other Tasks)
  • Add a Workflow to an existing Dossier

Adding the first Task to a Dossier

In order to create a Task in a Dossier without any previous Tasks:

  • Find the Dossier or create a new Dossier you want to add this Task to.
  • If there are no Tasks in the Dossier yet, click the Add a Task button at the top of the Dossier.
    Add task
  • This opens up the Add Task modal. Here you can pick a Task Template to use or start from scratch configuring the Task.:

  • Hover your mouse over the list of previous and upcoming Tasks and a button will appear that says Edit Tasks.

  • If you the new Task is first in line, it will immediately become the current Task and a Notification will be sent to the Client or Team Member who should complete the Task. If there are other Tasks to be completed first, it will simply wait until it becomes active.

Adding multiple Tasks at once

You can add multiple Tasks at once, by using Workflows.

Loading a Task Template

When you add a new Task you get the option to search for a Task Template. This Task Template is simply a saved version of a fully configured Task.

If you select a Task Template, this will override anything that you’ve already entered into the Task configuration! If you’re not sure about this, you can save your work in progress by saving the configuration as a Task Template.

To load a Task Template:

  • Get to the Add Task window by following the steps in Adding the first Task to a Dossier or Adding more Tasks to a Dossier.
  • In the Add Task window open, search for a Task in the bar at the top that says “Select a task template to use” [IMAGE add task modal]

  • Click on the Task Template of your choice:

  • This will fill in all the fields in the Add Task window. You can now make any changes you want to the Task. These changes will not be saved to the template; they are only for this one Task you are adding.
  • Click Add Task to add this Task.
